Our Connect the Dots series lets us check in with our team and our #GoodPeopleNetwork and see what they’ve been up to! By asking questions, you get to know others better, create new connections, or strengthen old bonds.
Last time, you got to know our Front-End Engineer, Anddy Ferreira. Now, it’s time to meet our Junior Interaction Designer, Kayla Park. (She’s the brains behind all our amazing motion graphics work!)
What Are You Reading? 📚
Unfortunately, I am not a big reader. Last year, however, Michelle Zauner’s “Crying in H Mart” fell into my lap. I have heard raving reviews about this book and decided to give it a try. Within just a few chapters, there were numerous instances where I found myself saying “wow, my Grandma does that too!” or “I had no idea that this was a shared experience!” It was comforting to read something so relatable as a fellow Asian American. Though I have not gotten around to finishing the book, it is definitely on my 2024 new year’s resolution list.
What Are You Watching? 🎥
I enjoy having a lighthearted show playing in the background while I crochet. Bob’s Burgers has been my go to recently. It is a feel-good cartoon show about a family that runs a burger restaurant. Unlike the families in many popular adult cartoon shows, like The Simpsons and Family Guy, the family members in Bob’s Burgers genuinely love each other. It is a refreshing watch and a great show to wind down to at the end of the day!
What Are You Listening to? 🎧
I love almost all genres of music, with Green Day and Radiohead being a couple of my all time favorite artists. However, for the past couple of years, I have fallen in love with electronic music. I started out with bass music, then converted to house music, and now I am exploring techno and drum & bass. I love it all! Though Daft Punk’s “Veridis Quo” has been on replay for the past month.
What’s one thing we should know about you that isn’t on your LinkedIn? 🤔
I collect hobbies like Thanos collects infinity stones. There are so many things I want to learn, and when I find the right hobby, I will become hyper fixated on it for months. Here’s just a few that I’ve tried in the past couple of years: crocheting, nail technician, DJing, baking fresh bread, video gaming, going on daily walks, and becoming a plant mom. Though I am definitely better at some hobbies than others (all of my plants are dying), I love experimenting with new projects!
Any last thoughts? 🧠
No, but enjoy this photo of my dog, Donuts :)
